Samurai Letters

This page is intended to glorify the God who commissioned Adam to spread the boundaries of Eden until the glory of the Lord covered the whole earth as the waters cover the sea.  This divine purpose, displayed in the history of redemption, was inherited by Abraham at the election of God, passed to Israel, promised to David, revealed and climaxed in the Lord Jesus Messiah (the one to whom Abraham, Israel, and David – indeed, all of history – looked and, seeing His day, rejoiced).  He, Jesus, commissioned His disciples, His church, to “go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:19-20).   Effectively, Jesus tells His disciples that the promises of God to Abraham – that the nations would be blessed in him – have been fulfilled in Jesus: therefore “go and bless the nations with this good news,” which we know as the Gospel of Christ – that He suffered on His cross, the righteous for the unrighteous, that the unrighteous (now declared righteous by faith in Him alone) might be reconciled to God (1 Peter 3:18).  Those who have trusted in this saving Person and work, are believers, people born again, and filled with the Holy Spirit – and the commission, as it now stands, rests with God’s energy in our efforts.  The glory of God, that intended by God from the beginning – that it should fill the earth, is now realized as regenerated, Spirit-filled people make known this glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ amongst all peoples – until that day when Christ returns and God ushers in His kingdom in full.  In that eternity, the new city will have “no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb” (Revelation 21:23).

This page, then, while being dedicated to our God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, has been created in order to communicate with one godly brother, and his godly wife, who, having lost their temporary lives for the sake of Christ, are currently discovering the great promise therein attached: that they have and will only gain that which is eternal as their lives are consumed with Christ and the kingdom of God in a foreign land.  They shall be affectionately called, Mr. and Mrs. Samurai.  Those who know them can attest to their godliness; those who happen to cross this page need only read their words to come to the same conclusion.  We want to express through this page our deep desires for consistent communion, Scriptural exhortations, encouragements, prayers, praises, and reports with this brother and sister.  And in return, they shall grace us with God’s work in their place of service.  May God be pleased to, hereby, edify His saints, and build His church.

As a method of operation, you may email me any correspondence at brianrmahon@gmail.com.  I will gladly handle the rest.  As far as content of letters, the best insight that I can give to you is to read the content of the letters from Mr. and Mrs. Samurai, and write accordingly.  They, of course, are – as they tend to be – eager to hear from you all, and equally eager to respond.  Here, then, is to our dialogue – may all Samurai’s wield their sword of the Spirit well.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
